South Carolina’s economy is growing, but access to those opportunities can be a challenge. Barriers to opportunity create a disconnect between industry and individuals seeking work. Additional disconnects also exist with training that does not fully align with real world needs, both on the technical and soft skills side. I have seen how access barriers limit the connection between communities, educational institutions, and industry. Improving that connection would strengthen workforce participation and opportunity.
