Why do we need leaders at all anymore?

Our Representatives divide us, get rich in office by voting the way their wealthiest constituents pay them to, and do not represent the interests of the common man. Back when we were unable to make each voice heard they were necessary. Now, if we voted people in to these offices who intentionally wanted to end this, we could rid the country of them as a whole. We could vote on issues ourselves and each vote would actually count. There would be less corruption. Everyone has the ability to access immediate internet voting.
