Stop insurance companies from increasing premiums
From "Welcome to The South Carolina Forum!"

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina (BCBSSC) dominates the state’s commercial health insurance market with the largest share (around 59% in commercial, often higher in segments/regions), giving it near-monopoly influence.
It continues raising premiums. As a policyholder-owned mutual, BCBSSC holds substantial reserves (historically high nationally), growing amid critiques of excess capital instead of returning value via lower rates or refunds.
Fellow South Carolinians: Let’s push to refund surpluses through rebates, lower premiums.

We need more insurance options that are cheaper.
Another problem I have is pre-authorization for everything. Their prescription policy is insane. More than half of my prescriptions they will not pay for. Another issue is I can't fill my prescriptions a week in advance. So I have to wait until I have 5 pills left before they will fill my husbands heart medicine and this has caused him to go without over holidays. Blue Cross Blue Shield your not being fair.

I couldn't agree more. Their reserves (as well as salaries for the top) need to be re-evaluated and managed in the way they manage oreauthorizations!

They may be a bit higher but they are paying all our providers appropriately and as a result has the strongest network in South Carolina. All the other carriers are losing their contracts. They are offering a value based plan. I know I sell them all as an agent and UHC and Humana is at risk here. Aetna is also playing games. BCBS is taking care of the Carolinians.
