Stop developing in flood prone areas

SC allows development in places that already flood and are going to flood more frequently, whether from heavy rain, rising rivers, hurricanes, storm surge, high tides and sea level rise. It’s incredibly short sighted and harmful to people, the economy and our environment. Protect wetlands instead of destroying them with a state wetland protection program. Move back from the beaches. Have green infrastructure be the norm. Require our building codes to be modernized instead of preventing updates. This will save lives, money and property.
