State income tax

Much has been said about reducing or eliminating state income tax in SC. Little has been said about how the revenue from state income tax will be replaced. As unpopular as taxes are we have to tax something. I prefer taxing things that are NOT necessities. I suggest adding a state wide tax on sugar sweetened beverages. Like alcohol, sugar sweetened beverages are bad for our health. Both types of beverages are nonessential. We already tax alcohol, time to tax sugar sweetened beverages as well.
