I worked as a building inspector for 2 years in SC. SC refuses to adopt new energy codes and still on 2009 IECC energy code. Builders and Jurisdictions are in cahoots to do the absolute bare minimum to save the builders money. When working for the City of Florence, I found the Building Official was married to the head of the Builders Association. Builders were calling my bosses wife and getting my inspections overruled to save money and not abide by codes. Corruption is not just at a federal level
