Providing a safe access to our schools

Many children have to walk to school if they live too close for bus transportation. Even in award winning school district students walk to school and activities. Not all parents can, or do, drive their children. Also, not all families can afford a car for their teenager to drive to school. We must provide sidewalks around schools at a minimum for children/teenagers to walk to school rather than on the side of the road in trash, high grass, and next to fast moving traffic. Sidewalks create at least a buffer to keep cars from hitting children.
