Prioritizing Green Space and Accessibility

Among rapid development, local leaders should prioritize green spaces and accessibility. Bus stops should not exist without sidewalks and safe approaches for pedestrians and disabled persons. A prime example is Wade Hampton Blvd. in Spartanburg and Greenville counties which is a major corridor linking cities. Pedestrians are forced to walk through weeds and unsafe conditions to reach bus stops. While allowing development, requiring a park or green space every ten miles. This would only serve to make our communities more desirable to live in.
