Party over people; new leadership needed in South Carolina
From "Welcome to The South Carolina Forum!"
Go to the project
Elected officials like Congressman Joe Wilson, AG Alan Wilson, Senator Graham, and Governor McMaster have consistently chosen party loyalty over their constituents’ needs.
Symbolic gestures — placing Trump’s image on currency or naming highways after him — do nothing to address South Carolina’s real challenges.
When politicians prioritize their careers over the people they serve, it’s time for new leadership.

This post has the same problem that most of the ones here do. They sound great sentiment-wise, but what specifically do you want to see? What specifically-not sentiment wise-do you think that these leaders have failed on? We need to be more specific when we talk about politics, not less.

Gov. McMaster is an awesome human being. He helped me in my time of need. This proves he cares about others.

I very much agree with you, and I would add Ralph Norman to your list of partisan puppets even though he is elected to federal office. Now that he is running for SC governor, he is even more focused on the cult-like partisan rhetoric. I think SC needs some real nonpartisan servant leaders who will put the needs of the state and its citizens above their political careers.

I agree with you, but when they are in office, there's little we can do. We have to make sure they never run unopposed and to recruit and then support good challengers.

It is over due for new leadership and I use that term loosely. The representatives need to get back to why they were elected. What good is a self serving party? The evils of such a thing are too many to name. It's time to move past this party they have had more than enough time to do their job. They made it clear we don't matter and now we need to make it clear they don't matter. Do not support this party in any way. They need to start from the bottom up to earn any trust from us.
