Legalize Cannabis and use the taxes to fix all of these issues.

From "Welcome to The South Carolina Forum!"

Go to the project

Having traveled for work to many states and countries where cannabis is legalized, I see their nice roads, their strong education systems, and their lowered crime rates, and I wonder why we are so very against it here. We don’t want to pay more property taxes, we profess to believe in small government, and we want personal liberties, yet we keep making this beneficial plant illegal for all, even those who suffer major illness. Stop legislating morality and start governing responsibly when there is such an easy source of revenue at hand.

The answer to your question is Henry McMasters. He is useless and does absolutely nothing for our state. He will show up to a ribbon cutting ceremony if you ask him.

With the legalization of cannabis the tax dollars can and should be used to help fix roads, develop infrastructure, etc. these are millions that the state is losing out on from a 4 billion dollar business. People with medical issues such as myself dealing with anxiety and depression will be able to use the medical benefits of cannabis to help with subsidizing cost for the medications that I am on currently. Hemp helps better than me popping a pill every time an attack starts. 15 minutes or less with cannabis based products versus 30 minutes to an hour before my medication kicks in.

If this is really about the children, The sale is regulated, but there is no punishment for possession, get rid of the Mail Order component. It isn't about protection it is about control.
