Since marrying a local and moving here over 6 years ago the increase in our power bill (dominion) has been A LOT. We have lived in the same home this entire time and have even had it weatherized. Our bill has went from 200$ to over $1070.... They just proposed another rate hike of 12% as well

That jump is extreme. You may want an electrician to have a look. A friend living in MB found that a neighbor had run an extension cord and plugged it into her place. Cops did nothing and she was liable for the bill.

I'm with you. I've lived in the same home for 7 years, and it's jumped from around $250 in the winter to over $500 this year. We have always kept the thermostat at 68, and if I go any lower, it'll hard to keep warm even with a sweater. It's ridiculous.
