I-20 Florence to Georgetown
From "Welcome to The South Carolina Forum!"
Go to the project
There are many reasons extending I -20 from where it currently ends in Florence & I-95 to Georgetown: First, Georgetown is an under utilized port that is also one of the deepest in the Atlantic seaboard. I-20 would create an enormous opportunity to expand imports/exports out of SC and create longstanding jobs. Secondly, immigration into the PeeDee region has amplified the need for exiting due to hurricanes, earthquakes or any other natural disasters that will befall our state. Finally, smaller cities and towns will increase their attraction to business.
