Energy Cost and Supply
From "Welcome to The South Carolina Forum!"

Today's wars demonstrate how serious it is to break free from fossil energy. It is quicker/cheaper/cleaner to get solar and wind energy. Why are we only hearing about new pipelines or nuclear for SC?
And why are we talking about so many data centers projects, while not even requiring they supply their own energy from solar and wind?
So consumers get fair energy bills...
Streamlining our permitting process would also help significantly with the urgency of this energy issue.
Without irremediably destroying our very wet lands, farm lands and forests.

Agree that data centers should provide their own power. But solar and wind are not practical for large scale power.

It only seems logical to require data centers to use the most efficient technology to operate and to require them to add solar or wind power to offset some of the strain they will put on the grid.
