End straight ticket/party voting

Straight ticket/party voting needs to go. It continually allows candidates who are not good candidates to win elections simply because of a letter beside their name. It eliminates any competition for third party candidates. It encourages an uneducated electorate. If folks want to vote for a party instead of a person they should be required to go through the entire ballot and mark their choices appropriately.

SC is one of just 6 states still permitting straight-ticket voting. IN 2024, 51% of all votes cast were straight-ticket, suggesting that half of SC voters didn't bother to learn a thing about their candidates before voting. The goal should not be getting more more people to the polls, but getting more educated voters to the polls.
