Electronic polling for new laws/regulations
From "Welcome to The South Carolina Forum!"
Go to the project
I would like to see a system in place where the citizens of each state get to vote on laws/regulations in their communities. There are so many decisions that need to be made according to how the citizens feel and it is left up to the state representative to cast a vote. Ask the citizens instead, then everyone gets a voice.

I think a referendum system would be great!
I also think that the SC Forum is a wonderful social experiment and attempt to address this.
We need moderate politics that address issues pragmatically and not emotional demagoguery that does nothing but turn our government into a football match and divides our country. We need to be shooting for the middle and practical path and learning how to agree and disagree respectfully.

I would like to see bills that brought to the floor for votes be one subject bills. This hiding personal agendas in bills and they never get mentioned has to stop.wit one subject bills the public knows what is going on and what is being voted on. Seriously this is a Pandora box. Representatives have gotten away with the self serving agendas long enough. Make government transparent. One bill at a time.
