South Carolina's beautiful coastline and river systems are being polluted with high concentrations of microplastics. These chemical "sponges" absorb harmful pollutants like heavy metals and pesticides, which then get ingested by the local shrimp and fish we eat. South Carolina political leaders need to target this dangerous substance invading our waterways and bodies.
