Cost of living and rent

The cost of living and the rent prices keep going up and up with very few ways to alleviate it. All of these new housing developments and apartment complexes are being built but all of them price out low income to middle class households. And very few provide income restricted housing and even then the restriction is not applicable if you are slightly out of range of the median earner of the area.
