Alimony Reform

South Carolina remains one of the final holdouts for Permanent Alimony—a legal relic that persists as an archaic historical remnant grounded in outdated religious views of marriage as an unbreakable financial shackle. This system no longer reflects the realities of the modern workforce or the principle of individual independence. More importantly it keeps both parties from healing and achieving productive and happy lives.
